Data Logging Shield (Assembled) - Adafruit Shield

/22/2016The Arduino Due uses an ARM micro that runs on 3. 3V. The Due kept the same foot print as the Arduino Mega2560(Also a 5V micro) to be compatible with old shields. 5V micro's might be okay to work at 3. 3V but 3. 3V micro's can't work at 5V because the components used was designed to run with in 10% or so of 3. 3V.
